The river provides some great insect hatches including caddis, mayflies, and stoneflies. Special hatches inlude the Mother’s Day Caddis hatch, Salmonfly hatch, Blue Winged Olive hatch, Sulphur hatch (also known as the Pale Morning Dun), and midges. Along with mayfly nymphs, caddis pupa, and stonefly nymphs, sow bugs, scuds and mysis shrimp are also prolific near the dam.
